PRIVO® has developed a privacy-enhanced age assurance and identity verification widget to verify consumer age and/or identity. Where required a successful verification can be coupled with parent consent. Always be sure to read the individual privacy policies of the service, app or website presenting the verification widget. PRIVO offers several options to verify age or identity. You can verify by providing the requested and required information using one of our SECURE methods.
All data provided is used only for the purpose of verification. Each method requires its own unique set of information. All information requested is required to use the chosen method. In some instances, a customer service representative may contact you for further verification. The following data is generally collected for most methods during the verification process: name, date of birth and email address. Data specific to the chosen method during verification is also stored securely against the transaction record and is not used for any other purpose without your explicit consent. Transaction records are kept as evidence of a verification attempt and to prove verification status with our partners that provided you with our verification service.
By clicking the “Verify” button from the data collection screen, you are agreeing to PRIVO checking the accuracy of the information you submitted against your government-issued ID and/or through our trusted third-party verification vendors or customer service agents. By creating a PRIVO iD, users who come through the verification widget can save their verification status. There are many ways to create a PRIVO iD and one of them is by adding a password from within the verification widget when you complete the verification process. By adding a password to the email address you used to verify your verified status is saved and you don’t have to repeat the process again wherever hat you see the PRIVO verification widget in the future.
This method uses the following information and checks it against a the credit agency the card is associated with. Data includes your first and last name as it appears on your credit card, birth date, postal code associated to your credit card, full credit card number, expiration date and CVV code.
In order to safeguard that your credit card is being presented by you, the legal card holder, your credit card will be TEMPORARILY charged a nominal $1.00 fee, processed by the credit card gateway through your individual bank, and then credited back to your account, unless otherwise stated. Some services will retain this dollar but not unless it is clearly stated when you submit your data. In most cases the $1.00 will be refunded. The $1.00 charge will be processed immediately, but the credit may not appear on your statement until the NEXT BILLING CYCLE as it is usually processed within 3 business days after the initial charge is submitted. The last four digits of your credit card and email address will be stored securely and retained for customer service and transactional receipt purposes only.
NOTE: Some banking institutions will not allow an online $1.00 transaction. If you experience difficulties, please use a different credit card, or choose another verification method. You may also want to contact your individual bank for further clarification as to why a charge was not successful.
You will be required to provide the last four digits of your SSN to validate that you are an adult. This information is stored during transit and at rest in a secure format. This method uses your full legal name, birth date, postal code to match against. You MUST supply your legal name for this method to work. The last four digits of your SSN and email address will be stored securely and retained for customer service and transactional receipt purposes only.
NOTE: this method will not work if you are under 18, or do not live in the U.S. Additionally, this method may not work if you have recently moved and provide the new postal code or if you have changed or updated your personal information, such as last name for example if you changed your name when recently married. You will be given an opportunity to provide additional data in the case that the first attempt fails. Additional data may include previous postal codes or names that you have used in the past.
You will be required to provide the identification number on your valid U.S. driver license to validate that you are an adult. This information is stored during transit and at rest in a secure format. This method uses your full legal name, birth date, postal code present on your driver license to match against. You MUST supply your legal name for this method to work. Please be sure that your postal code and birth date are correct and matches the exact name on your ID in order to complete this form of verification. Your email address and DL number will be stored securely and retained for customer service and transactional receipt purposes only.
NOTE: For identity verification, this method will not work if you are under 18 or do not live in the U.S. Additionally, this method may not work if you have recently moved and provided the new postal code or if you have changed or updated your personal information, such as last name if for example you changed your name after recently getting married.. You will be given an opportunity to provide additional data in the case that the first attempt fails. Additional data may include previous postal codes or names that you have used in the past.
This method utilizes a government issued identification card and the following information to process and verify your age or identity. Data includes your first and last name, birth date, postal code, and country as they appear on your ID along with a submitted selfie for liveness testing to ensure the user providing the information is the actual ID card holder.
The process will require you to present the front and back of the ID card along with a selfie which will be matched against the photo on the card. The selfie liveness test ensures that the person holding the card is not a generated image or computer image. Your last name, email address and ID number will be stored securely and retained for customer service and transactional receipt purposes only.
This method allows you to use your existing PayPal credentials to securely authenticate through the Connect with PayPal authentication service. Upon successful authentication PRIVO will collect your first name, last name and email address from PayPal. Only the email address will be securely stored against the transaction record. The first and last name will be temporarily used for communication purposes with you and then deleted. Your first and last name are not stored or used for any other purpose.
The Stripe method collects your first and last name as it appears on your credit card, birth date, email address, postal code associated to your credit card, full credit card number, expiration date and CVV code. Debit and gift cards will not be accepted.
To safeguard that your credit card is being presented by you, the legal card holder, your credit card will be charged a non-refundable $0.75 fee, processed by Stripe through your individual bank. The $0.75 charge will be processed immediately. The last four digits of your credit card and your email address will be stored securely and retained for customer service and transactional receipt purposes only.
NOTE: Some international banking institutions may require additional verification (such as 3D security) to process an online $0.75 transaction. If you experience difficulties, please use a different credit card, or choose another verification method. You may also want to contact your individual bank for further clarification as to why a charge may not be successful.
Facial age estimation works by turning on your camera and completing a liveness scan of your face. Data collected prior to the process includes your full name, birth date, and email address. The transaction identifier that is generated upon completion of the face estimation is stored in the form of a token that defines the estimated value calculated for your age. Your last name, birth date, email address and the token will be saved for customer service and transactional receipt purposes only.
You will be required to contact our customer service centre to leave your voice recording along with the requested information for this method to work. In some cases, a live representative may need to assist you with the request. Your phone number will be required in case we need to contact you for further verification. Your voice recording, email address and phone number will be stored securely and retained for customer service and transactional receipt purposes only.
You will be required to print, sign, and return a completed print form for this method to work. The information on the form maybe used to verify using our third party service providers. The form MUST be signed by hand, or it will not be processed. The form can be returned by mail, fax, or email to the customer service center. It may take up to 48 hours to be processed (up to a week if mailed through the U.S. Postal Service). Your last name and email address will be stored securely along with the form for customer service and transactional receipt purposes only.
