Operations Engineer

As a Cloud Operations Engineer you will drive every aspect of PRIVO service operations. You will influence, create and contribute to the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery automation platforms. You will design and implement cloud infrastructure for smoother and faster service delivery and scalability. You will handle deployments on a large scale. You will set up and maintain monitoring and logging systems, create and maintain Ansible deployment scripts. You will work as a key member of the devops team to ensure the automation platform is capable of serving current and future needs. You will document and drive best-practices across the team.


  • Identify and maintain proven practices that facilitate optimal leveraging of cloud technology and facilitate cloud integration goals. Includes common cloud development patterns, naming guidelines, etc. formulated from real-world experiences, industry sources, vendors, etc.
  • Design, deploy and maintain the PRIVO cloud infrastructure in AWS using automated tools and scripts.
  • Automate deployments and system management tasks and build repeatable solutions using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, scripts etc.
  • Understand and be able to use source version control systems (git, GitHub) Install, upgrade and manage cloud instances and software as needed.
  • Implement enhanced redundancy, disaster recovery, performance and capacity planning
  • Implement internal and production cloud services monitoring/alerting.
  • Assist in monitoring maturity (noise reduction, etc.) and proactively and take actions as necessary.
  • Maintain and measure performance and uptime service levels for PRIVO infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with and mentor software engineers to establish and drive operational acceptance criteria for projects and features.
  • Work alongside the team to increase quality, resiliency, reduce risk, and drive efficiencies in release and operational tasks.
  • Manage security risks, issues, and work end-to-end through the architecture and engineering workflow.

Essential Qualifications Needed

  • BS in Computer Science (or related field) and/or relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience e.g., systems administration, development operations
  • Experience with 24/7 production operations
  • Possess strong cloud implementation experience, and experience in Cloud architecture/design, compute/storage services
  • Understand multi-datacenter/multi-zone based designs 

  • Ability to think/provide solutions utilizing best practices for resiliency, scalability, 
resource utilization identification methodologies 

  • Strong understanding of micro service architecture solutions
  • Strong experience with either Java/J2EE/Spring/APIs/Python Frameworks 

  • Experience with MySql 

  • Solid experience with Linux administration
  • Knowledge of any one of the idempotent tools such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible in particular
  • Scripting experience, particularly python, bash, etc.
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with AWS
  • Knowledge of source control systems, particularly git/GitHub
  • Experience with TCP/IP network design, troubleshooting, and security
  • Knowledge of best practices & implementation of various levels of information security
  • Experience designing, implementing and operating build & release automation and continuous integration and deployment
  • Experience managing operational monitoring, metrics and logging systems
  • Networking expertise, including but not limited to DNS, Load Balancing 
technologies, NAT & VPN
  • Experience with Jenkins for Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Release Management, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently individually and/or part of a team 

Desired Qualifications in Some of the Following Areas:
  • Experience with container automation using Kubernetes, AWS Elastic Container Service, etc.

Marketing Coordinator

Job Description:

The PRIVO Creative Services and Marketing Communications team is currently looking for a Marketing Coordinator to assist in day to day operations that will include market research, managing PRIVO’s social media presence, email marketing communications, blog and gather performance data across platforms. The Marketing Coordinator must be able to react quickly to support business needs, determine daily activities, and program content while delivering to deadlines. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in both social media and direct response, online advertising and market research.

  • Help drive brand awareness, market research and identify trends in the industry to help in determining marketing direction.
  • Gather data across PRIVO platforms to interpret, turn into actionable items and execute changes to optimize our product and live campaigns as well as generate regular reports for stakeholders.
  • Manage social media presence and special ad campaigns.
  • Support with content creation and content strategy for email marketing campaigns and blogs, then tracking/reporting on effectiveness.
  • Help develop traffic generation strategy.
  • Assist in creating materials used for proposals, correspondence and presentation materials and reports.
  • Help coordinate special events.
Skills Needed:

The ideal candidate will have a cheerful can-do attitude, an analytical mind and critical skill-set as well as the ability to project manage several deliverables. Key requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience within marketing and the digital space (relevant internship experience is acceptable). Digital kid industry a plus.
  • Careful attention to detail without sacrificing deadlines.
  • High energy – must be a deadline driven, highly flexible, and a multi-tasking master.
  • Love numbers and problem solving with data and have an analytical mindset.
  • Assist in creating materials used for proposals, correspondence and presentation materials and reports.
  • Be curious with an appetite for knowing what people think and how they behave online in the social space.
  • Have a passion for brand-centric online marketing.
  • Have strong copywriting skills and an understanding of the importance of creative in effective online advertising.
  • Have a solid understanding of online marketing and significant experience with Twitter and Facebook.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Facebook Advertising, Twitter Advertising, Search Marketing or other native advertising a big plus.
  • Comfort level with Excel. Fluency in Word and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a start-up work environment with multiple stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must.
  • Should be well versed with e-mail marketing and lead generation through email marketing.
  • Should be able to improve yourself everyday with both online and offline tutorials as digital marketing strategies are always improving.
